Tiree take two

Tiree. I can’t tell you how much we fell in love with it last summer. After I had spent a few days on a photographer’s retreat there (think lots of prosecco, lots of photography, lots of running about on beaches and laughter and chatting late into the long summer evenings) my family sailed from Oban with Calmac to join me for a few days. Arriving at sunset and despite a long drive from Skye and a longish  ferry crossing, the second my two saw the beach at Balevullin they leapt with unbounded joy and ran straight into the surf. We spent most of our time at the beach or exploring the island and planning what we would do on our next visit to the beach. We flew a kite, we plunged in and out of the surf, we found a natural “jacuzzi” we picnicked and spent many long happy hours simply being.

Everything about Tiree was family holiday heaven. Perfect for biking, there are surfing and wind surfing schools, some lovely cafes, more beaches than you can count,  and very little to appeal to “pester power” which I absolutely loved! I can’t recommend it highly enough – go see …
